L auren and Logan met when both were students at Ohio University. “I was the overachieving newspaper girl rolling burritos at the local Chipotle to pay for sorority dues,” Lauren says. “He was the cashier with tattoos and an eyebrow ring who came into work every day wearing red Converse sneakers and a Pokémon belt. Somehow, we clicked.”

Lauren praised The Marmalade Lily for creating a “rustic and timeless” celebration for the couple’s June 4, 2022 nuptials. “I was absolutely blown away. We had our ceremony under a canopy of trees, dined outdoors in the courtyard, and danced the night away in the barn.”

The couple’s officiant, Chuck Greenlee, was their best man which Lauren says made them both comfortable. “We also wrote our own vows,” Lauren says. Guests thought surely the couple had collaborated, since each mentioned Logan’s red Converse and Pokémon belt, but Lauren swears the pair kept them secret. “One of our best friends came up to me afterwards, and he said, ‘It all makes sense now. You think so similarly, even though you’re so different.’ ” Lauren says. “So that was really special.”

It was a bittersweet for the couple, who were celebrating just two weeks after Logan’s father passed away. To honor his memory, the wedding party carried D20 dice in their pockets. This type of die is used in Dungeons & Dragons, a fantasy role-playing game. Logan’s dad was an impassioned player.
