The upcoming Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game will use a brand-new dice system to ensure that each hero's powers are balanced and engaging. The tabletop RPG, first announced back in June 2021, will let players become iconic Marvel characters or create their own original superhero. While Marvel crossover skins in Fortnite let players become comic icons, the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game will introduce the original d616 System to help sculpt a wholly original heroic adventure.

In recent years Marvel has placed emphasis on the gaming sphere, crafting interactive experiences where gamers embody their favorite heroes. Insomniac Games released Marvel's Spider-Man in 2018 and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2o2o, with both games receiving massive praise as open-world masterworks. The single-player narrative-driven titles lets gamers embody Spider-Man through intense web-swinging, acrobatic combat and emotional storylines. While Marvel's Avengers was a disappointment, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was another beloved single-player game that adapted the outer space outlaws with authenticity, originality and heart. As Marvel fans cry for more interactive experiences, like perhaps a next-gen Incredible Hulk game, Matt Forbeck is preparing to deliver a tabletop version of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

As detailed by Marvel, the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game will include a new dice mechanic called the d616 System. Game designer Matt Forbeck explains that the new system will help make every Marvel hero, from the lowliest street-level brawler to the most powerful cosmic juggernaut, feel balanced and fun to play. During their turn players will roll three six-sided dice, with one of them being a designated Marvel die. Rolling a one on this die will result in an amazing feat from any hero, and getting a six on the two other dice will lead to an even more bombastic result. Players can experience the d616 System for themselves when the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game launches on April 20.

While the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game will be a tabletop adventure through the comic book universe, the Marvel Future Revolution app is a mobile RPG starring the company's biggest icons. The crossover adventure features a wide roster of heroes, from Spider-Man to Storm to Captain Marvel, and recently the roster expanded to also include the mutant sorceress Magik. Fans are anticipating even more additions to the roster in the future, though RPG fans who prefer a tabletop to a mobile device may want to check out the upcoming Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game instead.

The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game will use an in-depth Playtest Rulebook, and a unique dice mechanic, to let players embody Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
